ANNETTE WIETZORREK

Inspired by her mother, an excellent water colour artist, Annette started taking painting lessons at an early age in Germany.  Annette was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1968 where she spent her childhood.  She also lived in Connecticut, USA for 3 years and spent 14 years in Germany where she got her Masters of Communications at the University of Munich.  As an Advertising Specialist, Annette gained a lot of insight into graphic design and creative art directing.

After immigrating to South Africa in 1996 she joined Sue Orpen to develop her watercolour skills.  From 2001 until 2004 Annette painted with Barbara Poultney and expanded into acrylics and oils.  Since then she has been taking workshops and lessons with the finest South African painters like Sue Orpen, Kerri Evans, Reshada Crouse, Cyril Coetzee and Walter Voigt.

Today she spends as much time as possible painting in her cottage art studio, at workshops, or on her travels.  Annette’s colourful work reflects her joy and passion for life, her husband and two sons.  It is these qualities that result in a steady demand for her work and regular commissions.
